The Team:
The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is the major acute referral hospital for Northern Tasmania, with the Emergency Department providing 24/7 care to a broad regional community. The team works closely with medical, nursing, allied health, Ambulance Tasmania, inpatient and community services to deliver safe, timely and patient-centred emergency care.
The Role:
The Director – Emergency Medicine provides senior clinical and strategic leadership for the Emergency Department, working in partnership with nursing and medical leaders to support safe care, patient flow, workforce planning, clinical governance and service improvement.

Salary:
Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $222,789 - $319,701 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $309,222 -$319,701 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award. Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025
