The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Department of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine is accredited for ANZCA Diploma of Advanced Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine training, subject to the applicant meeting ANZCA requirements. The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral centre for the state of Tasmania. It is the state’s trauma centre, as well as providing a wide variety of specialty services. Our busy, Emergency Department provides care for 70 000 patients annually. Approximately 25% of the case load is paediatric. We also run a 20 bed Emergency Medical Unit. The department is accredited for 36 months of training with ACEM, or two years of advanced training under the pre-2022 program. We have a wide variety of non-ED rotations available, including anaesthetics, intensive care, paediatrics, and medical education/simulation.
