The High Acuity Response Unit (HARU) is a specialised unit within the QAS that provides advanced pre-hospital care to severely ill or injured patients, under the direct clinical governance of the QAS Medical Director and supported by a team of senior medical specialists. HARU augments the clinical care provided by the QAS regions, Clinical Hub, and the broader QAS organisation to ensure high quality, patient centred care is provided to the Queensland community.
The role of the Pre-Hospital Care (PHC) Registrar is to assist the Medical Director with the development and delivery of clinical and quality assurance systems and processes to ensure the QAS remains at the forefront of pre-hospital care delivery and innovation. The PHC Registrar will receive extensive training in all aspects of pre-hospital care delivery and will be expected to participate in on-road responses with the HARU based out of Brisbane or the Gold Coast, as well as the QAS Clinical Hub.
