The Emergency Department now manages approximately 65,000 presentations per year, with a high acuity, and a broad spectrum of presentations allowing the practice of “real” emergency medicine.
The opportunities as a FACEM in Bendigo Health are endless. You will be part of a growing academic emergency department training medical students, interns, HMOs, GPs, provisional and advanced trainees. There are opportunities in research, ultrasound education, being involved in our EMET Training program, being part of quality improvement projects or helping co-ordinate interdisciplinary simulation sessions in the local advanced simulation centre. Clinically, you will have the opportunity to both perform and teach critical procedures as well as take care of children and women’s health emergency issues, treat major trauma, minor injuries and general emergency medicine.
You can walk to work from a gold rush period home 10-minutes’ walk from work, own some acreage, will be surrounded by boutique wineries, farm to table restaurants, romantic weekender villages, cycling, fishing, boating and camping and only 90 minutes from the centre of Melbourne.
