Manning Base Hospital is entering an exciting new chapter under the leadership of a new Emergency Department Clinical Director. We are building a strong, collaborative FACEM team and are seeking passionate Emergency Medicine Consultants who want to help shape the future of a growing regional Emergency Department.

About the Emergency Department

Manning Base Hospital's Emergency Department provides care for approximately 38,000 presentations each year and offers a diverse and rewarding case mix, including high-acuity emergency care and a significant Indigenous and older patient population.

The department is undergoing significant development, with opportunities to contribute to:

  • Building a sustainable, Emergency Medicine-led consultant workforce
  • Service development and innovative models of care
  • Education and supervision of ACEM EMTP and ACCRM trainees
  • Expansion of accredited training opportunities
  • Quality improvement, clinical governance and research

Our multidisciplinary team includes experienced nursing leadership, Nurse Practitioners, dedicated locum FACEMs and CMOs, supportive inpatient teams, and an expanding junior medical workforce. Consultants currently work day and evening shifts only, with no routine overnight shifts.
