The Department The Emergency Department (ED) is a well-equipped, 43 bed unit that opened in 2012, with an annual attendance of 45,000 with a 30-40% admission rate and approximately 20% paediatric caseload.  As the referral hospital for the entire north of Tasmania, with no bypass, our registrars experience high acuity and clinical diversity.
