Bass Coast Health

Bass Coast Health (BCH) is the acute sub-regional hospital for the Bass Coast Shire, incorporating the Gippsland South Coast Community including Phillip Island. BCH also includes the Health Hub at Cowes with outpatient consulting services and an Urgent Care Centre (UCC), Residential Aged Care Services at Griffiths Point Lodge, San Remo and Kirrak House, Wonthaggi and Community Care services based at San Remo and Inverloch.

BCH is an easy 90min drive from Melbourne’s' Eastern Suburbs, and is home to magnificent beaches, wineries and just a short drive to well-known tourist attractions such as Phillip Island, the Bunurong Coastal Drive, and Wilsons Promontory.

Our main site, Wonthaggi Hospital, has undergone a transformation and expansion of specialty services in medical and surgical disciplines.  A $115 million grant from government will fund the first part of our hospital’s expansion including a contemporary 18 bed emergency department and 8 bed short-stay that has recently opened (see - https://www.vhhsba.vic.gov.au/health/regional-facilities/wonthaggi-hospital-expansion).

In order to support our rapidly growing population, we’re forecast to grow our services, and our clinical and non-clinical workforce, by up to 45% to 2023. This means we’re always on the lookout for good people who embody our WE CARE values, who might make good additions to our excellent team.
