The Position St John of God Murdoch Hospital has an excellent reputation, benefits from being located in the fastest growing area of Perth and is, conveniently positioned next door to the State’s flagship Fiona Stanley Hospital. Commencing 3 February 2020, we have opportunities for a suitably qualified, competent Registrars to provide emergency medical services to adults and children within the Emergency Department. We are looking for an additional Advanced ACEM Trainee or alternatively a clinically experienced Provisional ACEM Trainee to join our team for a 6 month period from 3/2/2020 although this date can be flexible. Education  Our training program is accredited by ACEM and is led by our co-DEMTs Prof. Steve Dunjey and Dr. Julie Dockerty.  We deliberately only have a small group of trainees, so that training can, as much as possible, be one on one or small group, and very much designed to meet the needs of individual trainees.  We also have a strong commitment to inter-disciplinary learning and make regular use of simulation as part of our learning programs.  We actively try to maintain these points of difference and our trainees comment how much they value the educational experience at Murdoch when compared to other places they have worked.  We have a good track record with fellowship examination candidates. We have an all senior medical staff team consisting of a broad cross section of individuals - FACEM, Senior Medical Officers and ACEM trainees.  Our mixed adult / paediatric ED sees approximately 20,000 patients per year with moderate acuity and a 40% admission rate.  We have no access block, excellent access to diagnostic imaging, and a broad array of specialist inpatient colleagues in our 500 plus bed tertiary private hospital. The successful candidate will have: A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care. Eligible for provisional or general registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA). A minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a range of medical and acute care disciplines commensurate with this position. Proven highly developed interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate clinical and procedural experience commensurate with clinical responsibilities of a Registrar.
