Canterbury Hospital, SLHD

Canterbury Hospital is committed to providing high quality healthcare services to our local community, focused on patient and family-centred care.

Since opening in 1929 our hospital continues to grow to meet the changing needs of our community and incorporate new models of care. Canterbury Hospital was rebuilt in 1998 to expand our range of services and have more recently upgraded our Emergency Department and Operating Theatres. Now in its 90th year, Canterbury Hospital will be celebrating this significant milestone in October 2019.

Our campus is host to a community health centre, Tresillian Family Care Centre and Drug Health clinic, as well as a specialised After Hours General Practice service.

We are proud to provide services to our diverse local population of 175,000 people - 66% of whom come from multicultural backgrounds – working closely with local communities to promote positive health outcomes.

Our skilled staff are at the heart of everything we do, and are approachable and committed in their dedication to provide high quality care to our patients and their families.

Canterbury Hospital is part of Sydney Local Health District, one of the best performing health districts in NSW. Canterbury Hospital works closely with other hospitals and services such as Sydney District Nursing, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Concord Repatriation General Hospital to meet the health needs of people in our district.
