Ambulance Tasmania Critical Care and Retrieval (CCR) provides a state-wide Pre Hospital and Retrieval Medicine (PHRM) clinical service. CCR provides prehospital and interfacility critical care (medical team) responses and a Critical Care Management and Advice Service (CCMAS).

The Hobart base provides CCMAS, Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), wilderness rescue and road responses with on-base doctors employed by Ambulance Tasmania (AT). The Launceston base provides fixed-wing air ambulance and road responses using doctors employed by Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and deployed to cases at the request of AT.
