Bendigo makes excellent EPs… Bendigo ED focusses on training highly competent emergency medicine clinicians in a well developed academic training program. Our trainees are exposed to a broader scope of practice than any site in Melbourne. This includes procedures where there is no queue of people before you: do you know how to float a pacing wire or drain a quinsy? Our case mix is the foundation of our trainees experience. We are the regional referral centre for a big part of Victoria and a regional trauma centre. We see major trauma, paediatrics (23%), O+G, and everything else in between. There is 1 brand new hospital, 45 treatment spaces, 4 resus cubicles, 12 short stay beds, helipad, cath lab, and lots of sick patients. We are a happy department with a strong team culture (across seniority and across disciplines) We feel responsible for each other, the local community and the region. Our department has a “can do” philosophy. Registrars have access to: Excellent FACEM supervision Well regarded teaching program, Monash Uni sim lab next door, joint paediatric teaching, neonatal resuscitation training and much more Exam preparation and practice exams Excellent access to ICU and Anaesthetics terms Anything else you might need!
