ABOUT THE ROLE: Werribee Mercy Hospital Emergency Department is seeking an emergency physician to join our team as the Director - Short Stay Unit. A full time Nurse Unit Manager has been employed and recruitment is underway for additional emergency physicians and junior medical staff, to operate a brand new Short Stay Unit with capacity for 24 beds. As a major public hospital servicing the community of the West, we have an exciting growth strategy which will lay the foundation for future growth.  The new Short Stay Unit, is a temporary facility that will provide a home to the Short Stay Unit until the new two level Emergency Department construction is completed in 2027.
