Wagga Wagga Base Hospital is seeking a Clinical Director of Emergency Medicine to join the Emergency Department. Reporting to the Director of Medical Services and supporting the General Manager and Executive team at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital the Clinical Director will lead a team of doctors in the delivery of Emergency Medicine KPI’s whilst continually improving the patient experience.

Wagga Wagga Base Hospital (WWBH) is one of the busiest rural hospitals in NSW with 325 beds, 48,000 emergency presentations, 1,100 births and approximately 11,000 operations annually.
Wagga Wagga Health Service provides services including critical care, medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric, and rehabilitation care. We also provide mental health and community health services. We work with a team of specialists which include cardiovascular, gastroenterology, renal medicine, obstetrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry and paediatrics. There is also the provision of a full range of allied health and support services such as dental, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sexual health and violence prevention and response services.
A specialised Mental Health Recovery Unit provides a large modern and comfortable facility and our community health services are is co-located on the one Wagga Wagga campus.
About the Emergency Department
We are a mixed ED caring for over 48,000 presentations per annum with a diverse clinical case mix including 24% paediatric and O&G. We manage a significant amount of trauma and all the acute presentations that made you want to do Emergency Medicine as a career. Consultants have the potential to develop an interest in simulation, ultrasound, trauma, toxicology education or short stay medicine as a senior member of the department.
