The ED sees approximately 37,000 presentations a year, approximately 25% paediatrics and is a leading regional trauma centre.  The Port Macquarie Hospital and the Emergency department is in a time of exciting and significant expansion with a whole new Critical Care rebuild including a Cardiac Cath lab. We have a well-established and supportive team of Emergency Physicians.  We pride ourselves in providing a collegiate working environment with a good relationship with the inter-hospital staff.  We have a high standard of teaching for our juniors and involve ourselves in the teaching program for the Medical Students at the University of NSW Rural Clinical School.

The successful candidate will be Registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Emergency Physician and Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) and have demonstrated recent clinical experience in an Emergency/Critical Care Department at the role delineation of the service

Provide specialist clinical services for optimal patient outcomes within the Emergency/Critical Care setting including education and training of medical and nursing staff and the junior medical officers within the Emergency/Critical Care Departments.
