About the Department of Emergency Medicine
The Emergency Department sees approximately 27,000 cases per annum with an admission rate of 20%. We are accredited for 6 months advanced training. We see over 5000 paediatric cases, and are accredited for paediatric logbook.
We are a regional trauma centre, seeing major trauma from road, farm and factory. We are supported by a growing number of specialties – O & G, Psychiatry, ICU, Plastics, Orthopaedics, Geriatrists as well as General Surgery and Medicine.
In addition to being supported by 6 FACEMS, we have other consultants with a diverse range of skills including sports medicine and GP anaesthetists. There is excellent access to ultrasound with a CPU practitioner. We are supported by able nurse practitioners. You will manage a wide variety and acuity of patients.
Rostering is considerate, and remuneration is in accordance with the AMA Doctors in Training EBA.
About the role
We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, team orientated Emergency Medicine registrar to join our Department by August 2021 until February 2022.
