Adult Retrieval Victoria (ARV) is part of Ambulance Victoria (AV) and provides state-wide clinical coordination, retrieval and critical care services, including Major Trauma transfers. ARV is now inviting applications from Critical Care Specialists in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics or Intensive Care, for various fractional permanent appointments.
About the role
To support the work of Adult Retrieval Victoria (ARV) within Ambulance Victoria (AV), and to grow the capability of the service, applications are invited for Retrieval Consultants (fractional FTE). The primary objective of the position is to provide for the safe and effective acute inter-hospital transfer of critically ill patients from the receiving hospital to the destination hospital. Successful applicants for these positions will provide both case coordination and retrieval clinical care, and will be supported by a comprehensive induction program.
Successful applicants will be legally qualified medical practitioners registered in Victoria, possessing appropriate medical qualifications or currently completing examinations in these disciplines (i.e. FACEM, FANZCA, FCICM or equivalent). Previous experience in the field of medical retrieval is required. Appointment to this position is subject to successful completion of training requirements as outlined in the position description. ARV is an innovative and progressive service and seeks capable staff to assume these positions of responsibility and leadership.
