A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for registrars to join the Emergency and Trauma Centre at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
As a registrar in one of Australia’s top tertiary adult emergency departments, the successful applicants will join a vibrant, dynamic and supportive team environment.
While we usually have a waiting list for positions, changes in our workload due to the pandemic have created additional capacity. Full-time and fractional appointments are available.
RBWH is a level 1 trauma centre with regional trauma bypass and has a broad range of inpatient specialties including burns, interventional cardiology, tertiary obstetrics and interventional radiology. The ETC sees 90,000 patients each year with a high acuity and broad case-mix. With a cohesive senior group, excellent allied health support and a model of care which fosters development of senior-level skills, this position will arm you with the skills and knowledge you require to become a senior clinician.
Our department has a strong educational focus with proven results in both the primary and fellowship exams as well as a high-quality weekly education program focusing on FACEM-level knowledge. The consultant group includes five ACEM examiners and the regional censor for Queensland. We currently lead the country in terms of total WBAs performed and with rostered WBA shifts, you will have no trouble meeting your requirements.
This position would suit a late phase advanced trainee.
There is scope to remain in the department beyond the current term, as well as other rotations including ICU.
