We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic emergency medicine specialist to join our team
Our ED specialist team has grown rapidly over the past 5 years and we are committed to the provision of excellent emergency medicine care to people living in one of the fastest growing regions in New Zealand.
We welcome applications from EM specialists who are keen to experience working in a busy regional department as well as the opportunity to enjoy the lifestyle offered in the Bay of Plenty.
We also welcome applications from post-Fellowship exam trainees interested in a 1-year Fellow role.
Our department is accredited for 12 months ACEM advanced training and has a strong focus on education and development of the emergency medicine workforce.
We also have an active on-site simulation programme here at Tauranga Hospital and established links to the Auckland University regional clinical campus
Tauranga Hospital is a 330-bed regional hospital servicing a growing population of over 180,000. This includes both the rural community in the Western Bay of Plenty and the urban population of New Zealand’s 5th largest city.
The emergency department sees a diverse case mix with 58,000 presentations per annum of which 25% is paediatric.
