The John Hunter Hospital Emergency Department (ED) is growing and we want you to be a part of it!
Our ED department and is seeking postgraduate fellows to deliver Excellence to every patient, every time. Excellence is delivering the best possible care to each patient, in a safe and compassionate environment.
Our combined Adult and Paediatric emergency department is supported by a team of well trained, highly committed consultant emergency physicians, trainees, nurses and administration staff. Last year, the department saw approximately 80,000 presentations, 30% of which were children.
John Hunter Hospital is a Level 6, tertiary referral, major trauma and teaching hospital, servicing a population of more than 800,000 people. We have the busiest Emergency Department in the state, run a primary aeromedical retrieval service and are the main teaching hospital of the University of Newcastle Joint Medical Program. John Hunter Hospital has approximately 650 beds (incl. John Hunter Children’s Hospital) and is the largest hospital in the district.
