About the role
South West Healthcare’s (SWH) Emergency Department delivers well-planned and coordinated services for all clients and their families, by fostering patient focused and outcome directed clinical care to our community.
The role of Clinical Director Emergency Medicine will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and coordinating high quality emergency clinical services for SWH. The Clinical Director Emergency Medicine will also ensure medical staff of the Emergency Department show professionalism at all times, and model behaviours that align to SWH values.
As an experienced medical practitioner, you will work closely with operational managers to monitor and oversee the activity and budget of the Emergency Department as well as work collaboratively with other departments to plan, develop and implement clinical services.
The Clinical Director Emergency Medicine is a permanent position, with the hours of work to be negotiated with the successful applicant. The ideal commencement date for the successful applicant is March 2020 or earlier by agreement.
What you bring
Extensive experience in Emergency Medicine and emergency medicine systems management with a demonstrated record of achievement in the development and implementation of innovative programs for emergency patients is essential for this role. The Clinical Director Emergency Medicine will also have experience in medical administration including evidence of the development and implementation of strategic plans, continuous improvement and accreditation processes.
Working as part of a collaborative and highly skilled team of health professionals, excellent communication and leadership skills are essential, along with a proven capacity to provide clinical leadership to a range of professional clinical staff in multi-disciplinary team.
Applicants are required to have suitable qualifications as a medical practitioner registered with AHPRA and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Physicians. A Victorian driver’s license or equivalent is also necessary.
