Director of Emergency Services

 

Permanent Full Time (24 hours per fortnight clinical component)

 

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Emergency Medicine Specialist with leadership experience to join our team as a Head of Unit, Emergency Department Grampians Health - Ballarat.

  • Provide strategic, professional and clinical leadership
  • Work closely with our medical staff, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care
  • Provide values-driven leadership
  • Be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality emergency care services to the patients of the Grampians region

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Grampians Health emergency and urgent care services
  • Ensures compliance with the accreditation requirements of the College of Emergency Medicine to ensure GH is an attractive option for trainees
  • Facilitate opportunities for relevant medical training pathways in the Emergency Department
  • Work with senior leadership of the ED to meet the established Emergency Performance targets
  • Be accountable for ensuring a robust and effective education program for medical staff

 

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills are essential for this role
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Professional, Strategic & Operational Leadership skills
