About the opportunity

The Deputy Director (Paediatric Care) plays a key role in the leadership structure of the Emergency Department, working closely with the Director of Emergency Services, Deputy Director (Clinical Operations), Deputy Director (Clinical Standards and Safety) and the Nurse Unit Managers of the Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit.

The portfolio of the Deputy Director (Paediatric Care) includes:

  • Advancing the standing and quality of paediatric emergency care provided at WMH

  • Developing and delivering educational content specific to paediatric emergency medicine

  • Promoting a culture of quality and safety in paediatric emergency medicine at WMH and leading paediatric emergency medicine projects that deliver to the highest clinical standards

  • Leading systems and process development within the ED and broader hospital that promotes timely and safe paediatric emergency care

  • Helping attract, recruit, develop, and retain an emergency medicine workforce equipped to provide excellent paediatric emergency care.

  • Supporting the Director of Emergency Services with other tasks and projects as required

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
