About Rockhampton Emergency Department: Our department is made up of 17 acute patient treatment areas, 3 resus bays, triage and QAS assessment areas including a fast-track area for less acute presentations. Rockhampton Hospital is a main referral hospital for CQ which allows the department to assess and manage many trauma cases along with working closely with the RFDS.

About us: 

The Emergency Department is a dynamic workplace which treats both Adult and Paediatric populations. It is made up of 17 acute patient treatment areas, 3 resuscitation bays, triage and Queensland Ambulance Service assessment areas, and a Fast Track area which treats less acute presentations. The Emergency Department also manages a 12 bed Short Stay Unit. 

 

The Emergency Department sees on average 130 patients per a 24-hour period, and sees a vast range of clinical presentations, and works with patients from culturally diverse backgrounds. As a result of being a referral hospital for Central Queensland the Emergency Department sees a large amount of critically unwell and trauma cases and works closely with Royal Flying Doctors Service. 

 

About the role: 

A Nurse Practitioner – Emergency is a Registered Nurse who is educated and authorised to function autonomously in an advanced and expanded clinical role within the Emergency Department. Providing management of a broad range of conditions and provide care within a collaborative model within their scope of practice, level of knowledge and competency. 

 

About you: 

To be successful in this role you must have current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as well as Nurse Practitioner masters level qualification and NMBA endorsement to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. 

 

·       Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others; provides support; shares information and credit; considers the views of and involves colleagues in decision making; deals effectively with conflict; maintains effective working relationships with colleagues; mentors and provides leadership as appropriate.

Salary information: 

Total remuneration value of up to $86,309 p.a. is comprised of: 

• A salary between $73,08 - $76.30 p.h.   

• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
