Join the consultant team in the adult and paediatric mixed Emergency Department (ED) of the Townsville University Hospital (TUH).

TUH ED is one of the biggest and busiest Emergency Departments in Queensland, providing emergency care to the residents of the greater Townsville area, as well as being the major referral centre for the whole of North Queensland.

There were over 95000 presentations to the Emergency Department in 2022.

The TUH ED staff specialists cover clinical shifts in the adult and paediatric areas of the ED and short stay unit, in addition to aeromedical retrieval clinical coordination for North Queensland, the Frailty Intervention Team and and EMET (Emergency medicine education and training).

Competitive pro rata remuneration package (based on full-time equivalent) value up to $564,048 p.a.

Demonstrated clinical experience in both paediatric and adult Emergency Medicine.

Highly desirable qualities are experience and qualifications in paediatric emergency medicine, pre-hospital and aeromedical retrieval.

Proof of qualification and Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).

FACEM preferred.


Pre-employment screening will be conducted. 6 months probation may apply. VPD risk role.
