Applications are invited from suitably qualified trainees in paediatrics, critical care or emergency medicine to work as part of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Women's and Children's Hospital, North Adelaide. Positions are available for 6 month rotations (3 Feb 2020 to 04 Aug 2020 or 05 Aug 2020 to 31 Jan 2021).

The PICU Registrar, under Consultant supervision will provide Inpatient medical services for assessment of new admissions, management of the day to day progress of patients in the ward, discharge planning and home team liaison for PICU patients.


As a member of the PICU clinical team the Registrar under Consultant direction will perform procedures such as difficult airway management, venepuncture, intravenous and intra-arterial cannulation, central line and PICC insertion, chest tube insertion, endotracheal intubation and lumbar puncture.


Applicants must be registrable as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia, and have Advanced trainee status with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Australasian College for Emergency Medicine or College of Intensive Care Medicine.  Overseas applicants must have completed at least 3 years of paediatric training.
