Provide strategic planning of Emergency Department (ED) services at Bathurst in collaboration with the Director Medical Services (DMS) and General Manager (GM) inpatient teams, Ambulatory Care / Hospital in The Home service; Allied health services and other relevant stakeholders.
In collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) ED, lead and implement clinical governance activities such as policy development, review of incidents, clinical audit, morbidity and mortality meetings, risk management, participation in RCAs, analysis of key performance indicators and benchmarking patient outcomes with best practice.
Coordinate the human resource management which includes rostering, organising and coordinating senior and junior medical staff for the provision of safe, effective and efficient clinical service through leadership and management.
Provide best practice evidence based clinical services to achieve quality patient outcomes.
Lead quality improvement activities required to meet College accreditation and professional standards.
Provide advice to the DMS / GM on the management of clinical matters; undertake clinical reviews, address concerns raised about the ED team, provide advice on complaints and medico legal reports as required.
Actively participate in the Living Well Together framework, role model and communicate strong ethical behaviour and the CORE values and NSW Health Code of Conduct. Promote a culture of clinical leadership and collaboration amongst all medical staff. Support Junior Medical Officer (JMO) Well-Being initiatives.
