The Tasmanian Health Service in Australia is expanding to meet the needs of our community and the Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking Emergency Medicine Registrars. The RHH is our tertiary referral hospital for the state and our Emergency Department is a Stage 4 accredited site for both adult and paediatric emergency medicine, offering 36 months of training with ACEM or two years of advanced training under the pre-2022 program.

The Role
As a Registrar in our Emergency Department, you'll provide emergency care to patients while also having the opportunity to rotate through other specialties such as anaesthetics, intensive care, paediatrics, trauma, and more.
We offer Special Skills Placements in Medical Education/Simulation & Emergency Medicine Research, and candidates can be supported through rotations including hyperbaric medicine, neo-natal/paediatric ICU and general medicine. Our education program is highly valued, with dedicated preparation programs for ACEM primary and fellowship examinations.

About the Royal Hobart Hospital
The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral hospital in Tasmania and the principal teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania School of Medicine. The hospital provides all general and specialty medical and surgical services as well as paediatrics, obstetrics and psychiatry. It is also the state’s tertiary trauma centre.
The Emergency Department (ED) provides a tertiary level service for people with illness or injury 24 hours a day 7 days per week. Our busy ED provides care for >75,000 patients annually with an admission rate of more than 35% and a paediatric case load of 20%.
