Wagga Wagga Base Hospital is seeking a Visiting Medical Officer Emergency Medicine Specialist to join the Emergency Department. Reporting to the Clinical Director of Emergency Medicine you will provide clinical management and treatment of MLHD patients.

Where you'll be working
Wagga Wagga Base Hospital provides a 24/7 Emergency Department that supports both the township of Wagga Wagga and surrounding towns and villages.  Our recent $431 million redevelopment can be seen here . Wagga Wagga Base Hospital become operational in January 2016. As one of the busiest rural referral hospitals in NSW with 300 beds, over 40,000 emergency presentations, 1100 births and approximately 11,000 operations each year.   1. Holds registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  2. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  3. Demonstrated significant experience relevant to Emergency Medicine and evidence of competence in skills relevant to Australian rural hospital practice, including trauma and emergency scenarios.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
