Albany Health Campus is looking for an enthusiastic ACEM Trainee who wants to combine a great mix of rural and regional medicine with one of WA’s best kept secrets in terms of location and lifestyle.
Located on the South Coast of Western Australia, Albany is a town of 38,000 people with all the amenities of a small city with great restaurants, a thriving local arts scene and stunning surrounds, with some of the best beaches in Australia close by.
Our Albany Health Campus opened in May 2013. The ED has 2 resus bays, 9 acute cubicles, 4 fast track cubicles, an ED Short- Stay Unit as well as integrated computerised work management and pathology / radiology systems. There are nine resident FACEMs in town. The roster comprises 4-6 doctors per shift including the FACEM so there is excellent supervision and apprentice-style learning. Our registrars are required to do night shifts. The Trainee has a segregated five hours of formal education per week. We are accredited for twelve months of Emergency Medicine Training with ACEM. We are situated 420kms from Perth with good air links.
The successful applicant will have previous emergency medicine experience and must be registered with the Australian Medical Board and registered as a trainee with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

Salary: MP Year 1-7 $133,571 to $178,656 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 10.5% superannuation and applicable allowances).
Fixed Term Full Time and part time appointments for 6- and 12-months commencing in August 2023, with the possibility of extension(s).
To be successful to the role: Applicants must hold or be eligible for Registration with the Australian Medical Board, be at least PGY4 level and must have previous emergency medicine experience and must be registered with the Australian Medical Board and registered as a trainee with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.
