Katherine Emergency Department is seeking FACEMs with a passion for delivering high quality acute and critical care services in our remote setting. We have a flexible senior roster with opportunities for self-education and upskilling, cross-divisional practice and junior doctor supervision. Added to that, FACEMs would be part of a medical team committed to expanding our service delivery and clinical skill set to deliver high level medicine outside of a tertiary centre. 

Our mixed FACEM/FACRRM run Emergency Department has 17,000 presentations per annum with a great mix of adult and paediatric patients. Based in the Big Rivers Region of the Northern territory and serving 21 remote Aboriginal communities, our department fosters and seeks individuals with an interest in Indigenous health, preservation and culturally safe practice and an interest in the many challenges of health care service delivery in a lesser resourced setting. Katherine hospital is uniquely placed to offer the challenges of tropical medicine, trauma, remoteness, high acuity and patients with complex comorbidities. You would join our stable and collegial senior clinical team consisting of rural generalists, general Physicians and an obstetricians. Katherine maintains good working relationships with retrieval services and the Royal Darwin Hospital providing scope for maintaining professional networks and skills. Medical staff consist of FACRRM registrars and rotating interns & residents from Royal Darwin Hospital and enjoys a close relationship with the Flinders University Northern Territory Medical Program allowing for plenty of teaching and supervision opportunities.
