Job Description

With an annual census of >75,000, 25% paediatric presentations, access to all of the major specialties except neurosurgery and an exposure to major trauma & marine toxinology, there’s plenty of stimulating work to go around.


As an ED registrar, you have access to:

  •  Flexible & family friendly rostering via an online rostering platform
  • 24 months accredited Advanced ED training time (Urban District)
  • 3 or 6 month rotations in:
    • ICU
    • Anaesthetics
    • Paediatrics
    • Acute General Medicine & Palliative Care
    • Obstetrics & Gynaecology
  • 6 month rotation to Colac Hospital - Rural Special Skills
    • Urgent Care Centre – 2 days/wk
    • Anaesthetics – 1.5 days/wk
    • Quality & Safety – 0.5 days/wk
    • No after-hours commitment
  • 6 month rotation to St John of God Geelong ED
    • Work directly alongside FACEMs on every shift
    • No night shift currently
    • Linked accreditation enables participation in ED teaching at University Hospital Geelong
  • 5 hours protected & paid teaching time per week
  • Supported participation in Quality Improvement activities
  • Consistent success in Primary and Fellowship examinations owing to robust study programs, including Dr Tom Reade’s renowned Fellowship Written Course
  • Well organized & supported WBA roster to ensure completion of requirements
  • Research opportunities both to fulfill trainee research requirement or for general interests
