This role leads and manages the Emergency Medicine team, enabling high quality, contemporary specialist services for optimal patient outcomes and supports training of clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice. Administrative tasks relevant to the role will also be undertaken.
Responsible for maintaining safe, effective and professional emergency patient/client care within the Emergency Department, the role assists in the fulfilment of Western NSW Local Health District’s strategic and operational plans and commitment to excellence, every patient, every time.
The appointment as Head of Medicine is for an initial period of three years (with extension subject to performance). The Head will be appointed to a substantive position of Senior Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine, and as part of this substantive role, will undertake patient care duties in Emergency Medicine, providing high quality specialist care for adult and paediatric patients who present to the Emergency Department.
