Consultant - Emergency Medicine

St John of God Midland Public & Private Hospitals is a 367 bed (307 public and 60 private) facility that is conveniently located within one complex.

We are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced Emergency Consultants to provide specialist emergency services to adult and Paediatric patients. Our consultants will promote patient quality and safe care and provide leadership, training, supervision, mentorship and education to doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers.

We have;

• 48 clinical treatment bays, including 3 resuscitation bays
• separate Paediatric assessment unit
• 12 bed ED short stay unit that you will provide care from

Successful applicants will be required to undertake clinical shifts as directed, which will include participation on the on-call/after-hours/weekend roster.

The successful candidate will have:

• Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility for full registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine.
• Demonstrated substantial clinical experience in the management of high acuity patients in a complex hospital environment, including Paediatrics.
• Evidence of career long education and professional development
• Demonstrated experience in teaching at registrar or fellowship level.
• Be enthusiastic and passionate about Emergency Medicine in a supportive environment.
