ABOUT THE ROLE:
Summary of the role:
Join our dynamic Emergency Department at Werribee Mercy Hospital.
As a principal registrar, you will develop the expertise and clinical autonomy of a junior emergency consultant with the appropriate support and supervision. You will be a late phase advance trainee who will be sitting your fellowship examination in the next 12 months. You will have the opportunity to work on the consultant roster and develop clinical support skills in a desired portfolio.
Be part of Werribee Mercy Hospital’s exciting future! Our ED sees a varied case mix of approximately 50,000 patients per year with a 5% growth rate, including 20% paediatrics. In July 2022 we will be opening a new 24 bed adult SSU. Planning is also underway for the development of a new 2 level emergency department with construction expected to start in 2023.
Our ED is ACEM accredited for 24 months advanced training in emergency medicine and we are known for our great team culture. As a registrar, you will be well supported by Emergency Physicians, with an active fellowship teaching and exam preparation programme and there is plenty of scope for teaching junior doctors and medical students.
