Job Description

Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED)

Deputy Director of VVED – Business and Operations

The Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED) is powered by Northern Health and currently serves the entire state of Victoria. Partnerships with Ambulance Victoria, COVID Care Pathways, metro health services, and regional health services lead to a diverse range of referral pathways. We collaborate with our partners to care for Victorians with potentially urgent and emergent health concerns, while also seeing a growing number of patients who attend VVED directly due to concerns of an emergency care need. The service sees the culturally rich and diverse community reflective of the Victorian population, including paediatrics, adults, and aged care residents. The goal of the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department is to improve the patient experience with emergency care, provide and coordinate care for patients virtually in the hopes of giving the right patient the right care at the right time, decreasing the overcrowding burden experienced in emergency departments across the state, and offering safe, timely, and equitable emergency services to all Victorians.

The Victorian Virtual ED provides a vibrant, fast-paced workplace. Given the rapidly expanding demand for our service, we are driven to think innovatively about the needs of the population and what the health system of the future might need to look like to meet those needs

The VVED is dynamic working environment, with a strong culture of teamwork, diversity, safety, and respect.
