Mildura Base Hospital is looking to recruit Emergency Medicine Trainees and/or Registrar. We are ideally looking for Advanced Trainees to enhance our existing Trainee group, but we are willing to discuss positions with any currently registered Trainee who may be looking for a lifestyle change, combined with the ability to continue their training.
Mildura is a busy regional centre that services a population of 80,000 and our Emergency Department receives an interesting and diverse case mix, treating ~ 35,000 patients per annum (20% paediatric) with an admission rate of 20%. FACEM coverage is from 0830-2300 7 days per week with an additional 11-2000 Consultant shift to assist with education and procedural support for the registrars. The department has 12 treatment bays, 3 fast track cubicles, 2 resuscitation bays and an 8-bed short stay unit.
Our Emergency Department is supported by surgical, medical, paediatric, obstetrics & gynaecology, psychiatric, anaesthetic and ICU services. We are a regional trauma centre and are well supported by Adult Retrieval Victoria.
We are currently staffed by 6 full-time local FACEMs and have regular FACEM locums who provide additional clinical oversight. We are accredited for 24 months ED training with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. With approved paediatric log-book (20% paediatrics) and multiple off-service rotation including 6 months anaesthetics.

The annual fulltime base wage is $136,681 - $186,176.64 - dependent upon years of service. Remuneration as per the current AMA Victoria - Victorian Public Health Sector - Doctors in Training Enterprise Agreement 2018 - 2021.
