Why Choose WACHS?
Working for WACHS you will forge strong and enduring connections with local communities and medical practitioners. You will benefit from hands-on, face-to-face, up close and personal experience and more importantly an opportunity to make a real difference to the medical outcome of country people.
WACHS offers amazing benefits:
Many of our junior doctors will tell you, it’s an experience that will change the way you view medicine and shape your future career.
Here is what some of our doctors had to say:
“Working at registrar level within WACHS has allowed me to access opportunities, experiences and rotations I needed for my training requirements. I have really found the individual interests and skills of the junior staff are valued, and we are encouraged to supervise others, participate in research projects or be part of a task force.”
"I’m glad I tried rural medicine, it’s was exactly what I was looking for – friendly locals, interesting medicine, beautiful surrounding and a great lifestyle, not to mention the supportive workplace environment and inspiring colleagues."
About Country Western Australia:
Here in WA we have more hours of sunshine than any other Australian state, with blue skies for most of the year. The weather ranges across the state from a semi-arid interior to a tropical north, while the southern half enjoys a Mediterranean-style climate. Enjoy an active lifestyle with a wide array of water and land-based sports, camping and fishing destinations and beautiful scenic beaches with pure white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water perfect for swimming and snorkelling. The sun sets on the west and if you’ve never seen a sunset over the ocean, WA will take your breath away. Not to mention that there are a lot less crowds and development compared to eastern coast beaches. WA is a year-round working holiday destination!
