Specialist Clinician Remuneration Package Range $196 946 - $240 619
(comprising salary $171 755 - $210 166, superannuation, leave loading and the value of 2 weeks extra recreation leave)

Senior Staff Clinician Remuneration Package Range $248 792 - $275 034
(comprising salary $217 355 - $240 435, superannuation, leave loading and the value of 2 weeks extra recreation leave)

In addition to the above packages; professional development, private practice and second roster allowances and salary sacrifice provisions.
Alice Springs Hospital Clinical Services
Fixed Term vacancy for up to 5 years  

An exciting opportunity available for work in the new Medical Retrieval and Consultation Centre (MRaCC) at Alice Springs Hospital as the Director of the Retrieval Department.

The successful applicant will be involved in the day to day operations in addition to strategic planning for future development of the service. Whilst based in the hospital, we maintain close working relationships with the Royal Flying Doctors Service and St John Ambulance. The Service is looking for practitioner skilled in critical care with experience in retrieval medicine who are committed to improving health care outcomes in rural and remote Australia.

The MRaCC is staffed by critical care specialists, and located on campus between the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit. It is designed to provide a single point of contract for remote practitioners to access expert clinical advice, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Co-location within the hospital allows the service to maintain strong working relationships with inpatient teams, facilitating good communication and integrated patient care.

Alice Springs hospital is a 200 bed facility, with a busy mixed Emergency Department seeing 49000+ presentations per year. It is the only major receiving hospital in the area. Whilst Patients needing specific tertiary services are transferred to either Adelaide or Darwin, most critical care patients are managed locally. You will see some of the most interesting and varied medicine in Australia.

We are looking for people prepared to commit to a physical presence in Central Australia, and maintain a part time position in their base speciality. Current AHPRA and specialist registration in Emergency, ICU, Anaesthetics or Remote and Rural medicine is required.

High attention to detail with above average time-management, teamwork and communication skills are a necessity of the job. As is the ability to work safely in complex cross-cultural environments.

Alice Springs is in a beautiful and unique part of the world with good schools, an accepting and multicultural community, eclectic art and entertainment as well as keen sporting opportunities all within a backyard that many travel across the world to see and experience. It is a regional town of approximately 27,000 people nestled between the East and West MacDonnell Ranges. Remuneration will be in accordance with the current EA negotiations.

Selection will be made at the SC or SSC level depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
