About the role
The MBPH Emergency Department receives approximately 34,000 presentations per year with a mix of approx. 80% adult and 20% paediatric. We have an 18 bed department, an 8 bed short stay unit and we are the regional trauma centre. MPBH also acts as a referral centre to metropolitan hospitals as required.
Working in a highly collaborative and supportive team environment, the Staff Specialist Emergency Physician will provide exceptional emergency care within a multi-disciplinary team of medical officers and nursing staff to patients of the hospital.
Key responsibilities of the role include providing specialist-level emergency service care, fostering of relationships with colleagues and other hospital specialists, provide clinical leadership, supervision and teaching of junior medical staff, participate actively in audits, clinical meetings and safety activities.

The base salary range is $242,793.20 to $333,845.20 per year, plus additional rural incentive allowance. Our Staff Specialists are employed under the AMA Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector – Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021.
