WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking Emergency Medicine Consultants to be placed in a Pool for the Midwest Region.
This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term appointments at full time and part time hours for 5 years and with the possibility for extension(s).
About the Role:
In the role of Consultant Emergency Medicine, you will be responsible for the delivery of direct patient care; coordination of patient transfers and retrievals; promoting the provision of high quality care and patient safety within the ED; and providing leadership, mentorship and education to our ED Senior Medical Practitioners, registrars and RMOs. Opportunities also exist for a range of clinical-support portfolios.
Suitable candidates must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and possess a fellowship with the Australasian College for Emergency medicine or equivalent as well as substantial postgraduate medical experience in emergency medicine and hospital practice.

The Midwest is located in the western middle section of Western Australia and stretches from the Indian Ocean in the west and bordered by the Pilbara in the north, the Wheatbelt in the south and Goldfields in the south and east. It incorporates four health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison. It covers more than 600,000 square kilometres, nearly one quarter of the State, with its population concentrated along the coast. The region supports a wide range of industry, including mining, agriculture, aquaculture and tourism.
