Job Description

A Visiting Emergency Medicine Registrar position is now available at Madang General Hospital, in Papua New Guinea.   

This position is for three-to-six months in the second half of this year, with a view to deployment in August 2019. This is a tandem role meaning you will be deployed with another Advanced Trainee. This role is a part of the Australian Volunteers Program (an Australian Government initiative) and supported by AVI. Flights, personal insurance, and a living and accommodation allowance are provided. 

ACEM Selection Criteria which must be met is listed below:

  • Qualification in MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery).
  • Registered advance trainee in Emergency Medicine with ACEM. The trainee should have completed Advance Training Stage 1 with ACEM.
  • Demonstrated experience as an emergency registrar, including some paediatric EM experience
    Proven evidence of completed anaesthetics or ICU rotation.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and supervising junior staff or students.
