About the role

The Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) provides on call cover for the general wards within St John's hospital, and to provide onsite 24 hour medical care for the Emergency Department (ED), Critical Care Unit and general wards on the Lenah Valley campus. 

Reporting to the Director of the Emergency Department, the EMO's key priorities are within the ED, and is the second-in-line for MET calls (with the ICU Registrar primarily responsible).

We have permanent full, part time and casual opportunities available for suitably qualified Medical Officers. Hourly rate dependent on level of training.

  • AHPRA registration, with a current ALS2 certification
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgement
  • Flexibility and adaptive in approach to service delivery
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
