CORK UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL – CORK – IRELAND RECRUITING FOR THE FOLLOWING POSTS: LOCUM CONSULTANT IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE FACEM or FCEM required Immediate Start Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council required REGISTRAR IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE Required 13th July 2020 or 11th January 2021 Registration with the Irish Medical Council required Come to Ireland’s second city and ‘real capital’ to work in Cork University Hospital (CUH) Emergency Department, the largest Emergency Department (ED) in Ireland (c. 70,000 annual attendances). CUH is a training site for core and advanced/higher emergency medicine training. We have the largest cohort of consultants in any ED (n=7) in Ireland – many of whom have worked and trained in Australia. In addition to providing the full range of Adult, Paediatric, Resuscitation, Ambulatory and Observational medicine streams, we are designated nationally to provide pre-hospital support with a fully equipped rapid response unit and telemedicine advice for Advanced Paramedics and off-shore Marine Emergency Rescues. We also have Ireland’s first dedicated ED Research Group, EIR ( E mergency Care I nnovation & R esearch network). We offer 1-year (negotiable) Registrar posts in Emergency Medicine (EM) and Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) to ACEM trainees; potentially accredited for Adult/General EM and opportunities to complete the PEM logbook under the supervision of an Australian trained PEM Consultant. ACEM trainees need to apply to the College for approval.
